"HD" on Uverse also but the source looked like crap. Probably just SD zoomed in to make it look like HD. I'm comparing it to say NBA or NFL on HD. F1 probably doesn't have full HD cameras.

While it was better than usual, it certainly wasn't full HD I don't think

My understanding was that the F1 world feed is PAL, which is 576i. FOX would them have to upconvert it to 720p or 1080i. Which explains why it looks "better, but not HD", since stuff like the NBA finals is shot w/ HD equipment.

I have DirecTV and althought the broadcasts on Speed TV are in 16:9, I'm pretty sure it's not really HD...

Serious? I had Dish up until a couple months ago and when they shot people's faces, they looked better than 480i. But maybe the SD on U-Verse really is superior and I am not used to this, since Dish pretty much sucked in 480i.

Can't wait to critique the quality on the next F1 race they air!!

That would certainly makes sense.
