Oil Cooler Fan Question
I really need to get an upgraded oil cooler for the duties I put my car through. Until then I want to test to see everything assisting the oil temp is working properly. My question is about the fan on the outside of the oil cooler, at what temp should that be kicking on? I wanted to test that today if I can.
Thanks

I'm not sure of the temps at which the low speed and high speed should kick on, but I found the best solution for hot days and track days with my 993 was to wire in a manual switch. If you switch your fan on BEFORE the engine gets to the temps that the fan comes on automatically, it should remain at a fairly low temp even on the hottest track days (at least mine did). I also have a manual switch on my current cars.

Yes, easy DIY. First DIY I did on my 993 and if I can do it anyone can. Good instructions on pcar.com; here's the link.

FWIW, I did not remove the CCU unit; found the correct green/black wire looking up under the dash.

Well I added the switch today. Good day to test it too. It was 93 Degrees and I got stuck in traffic (imagine that in ATL) for 15 min. My oil temp never got above 150ish. Now the real test this weekend ar Road Atlanta. High is forecasted at 94!!
