1997 Black w/ black C4S ****SOLD****
Haven't been aggressive in trying to sell the car because it is a great car and has never ever given me any problems. And well I kinda like it
A little background information on the car:
When I called on the car and spoke to the owner he was very knowledgable and was passionate about the car. I received some pictures and continued talking a couple times throughout a week and felt confident in the quality of the vehicle. I ended up flying down with a cashiers check should the car prove to be how I had a feeling it would be. The owner picked me up at the airport and brought me to his home. We backed the 993 out of the garage and I was very impressed which takes alot for me seeing as how I am pretty picky. Drove the car for about 20 minutes and knew that the car was solid. I Looked at the recent maintenance records and services that the car had completed on it about a month prior to the sale in the spring to get ready for the summer season of driving and found everything satisfactory.
I was treated to a home made korean dumpling lunch, did the paperwork on the car, signed the check and said thank you very much. Never did any PPI or had the car checked out and drove it 400 miles back home. Car never gave me any problems on the way home and has never given me any problems since. Has only needed gas and oil changes.
I realize some people might frown upon the whole not getting the car checked out through PPI, but I saw the maintenance records and understood the enthusiast nature of the owner. Some would say I lucked out, but I'd rather think that there are still decent people out there in the world.
I knew I wanted to try a wide body car after I had recently sold my 993 C2 so a C2S or C4S had to be found. This being another Porsche in a line of 944's 968's and 911's. Called on a few C2S cars and this C4S which was good because I was interested in knowing about AWD and the impressive big red brakes.
During their stay with me they are meticulously maintained and cleaned. I use the cars once or twice a week on average so that none sit for extended amounts of time. No short trips are allowed (has to be 20min+ each way), car does not go over 3200 rpm until it has reached operating temperature. When brought home before shutting down the car I always let it idle for a minute even though it isnt a turbo just to let it idle before shutting off. Doesnt go out in the rain or in snow.
The car is a black 1997 Carrera 4S, 52700 miles, with the options of:
- Black full leather seating
- (419) Rear Seat Delete
- (437) (438) Dual full power seats
- (490) HiFi sound system
- CD player in dash (have original Porsche tape deck from this car in the garage, too)
- (692) 6 CD changer in front trunk
- carbon fiber/aluminum shifter
- carbon fiber/aluminum parking brake
- (X71) Aluminum faced gauges
- (454) Cruise control
- (659) Onboard computer in tachometer
- (601) Factory Litronic headlights
- (650) Sunroof
- Hollow spoke 18in wheels
- (445) Painted wheel crests
- (X54) Wide oval exhaust tips
- (09991) manufacture from the exclusive-program
Additional options of:
- added the split grill as I think it looks better than the standard one
- Clear bra on front of car and mirrors
Things to note:
- one of the rear wheels has some curb rash (wasnt me!) that I purchased the porsche silver wheel paint and clear coat to do my own when I have some time (rare). It has had the scuffs on it throughout my ownership and unless you are standing next to the car you cannot see it but want to mention it.
I am hoping to have a day to devote to removing the wheel and following the steps as outlined in:
https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=37334
Confident that it will come out flawless.
Asking 48,995...and as always if it sells it sells...if not I get to enjoy it more
It is ridiculously clean car inside and out, fully detailed by me
There are no dents, dings or oil leaks, all engine maintenances are complete and up to date. The oil change was completed 3 weeks ago at the Porsche dealership in Syracuse.

Have owned this one over a year now. The cars usually stay for a year to 2 years. When they sell I enjoy spending time to do the research on finding replacements that have been loved by previous owners...even though with work now, it is somewhat difficult to get out and see cars in a more than 500 mile range away. But....I'm sure I can find a way to make time for Porsches
