Default MY02 Hose Reel...

I've wanted to make a garden hose reel/holder for quite some time - yet I lacked a key ingredient. A welder.

I settled on an 8" wheel and used 1/4" steel plate and 1/4" wall, schedule 40, 3.5" O.D. steel pipe. For studs, I simply shortened a handful of 18mm x 1.25 bolts.

I think the project turned out pretty well. My welding skillz are abysmal, but my beads will hold. No question. The wheel is held on with a set of used 993 lug nuts, torqued to whatever felt right.

Enjoy the pics:

I highly recommend the Pirelli 400 hose. It's performance in the wet is outstanding.

Did you have to use the offsets for a wide body?

I've got a 100' garden hose on there at the moment - fits without an issue.

I also have a 10" wheel that I may use for the rear of the house - it looked too big for the front location.
