Truly, the 993 is the most beautiful 911 ever!
So I'm driving my Targa today when I come across a 997 Carrera S. Beautiful car I must admit. He pulls up around me and gives me the requisite thumbs up and rolls in front of my. I've never really studied the back of a 997 before and this is a widebody. I realize that it looks a bit anemic to me, the *** end looks too high and the spoiler is really short - barely noticeable. The lack of the full lightbar across the lower bumper causes some loss of definition to the rear end. Truly (so maybe im a LITTLE biased), I feel that the 993 is just so must more spectacular of a vehicle. So very very glad that I went the 993 route as opposed to a 996!

I have to say that the 993 is the best looking 911. My 996 Turbo is a head turner, but the 993 really is more beautiful. I will say that my ancient Dino is more striking than either, however.

The 993 design is what kept bugging my about my 996 GT3. When I saw the new 997 GT3 I said
THATS IT THEY GOT IT!!! Meaning Porsche captured some of the magic of the 993 in the new 997
GT3. I had a 993 TT and I miss it.

I agree. I think the 997 is a beautiful contemporary interpretation of the 993. They're both beauties.

Beautiful, but reminiscent of Porsche history
Although the 993 is gorgeous, what is interesting to me is how it harkens back to the 356 days, while keeping all the good 911 lines. The designers really got it right if they wanted to build on the Porsche heritage. Nothing looks "tacked on"- simple and flowing lines all the way.
