Default Suggestions for Interior Resto Project

Hi everybody,

I just got through restoring my 94 993, and have not worked on the interior yet. I am planning to get it done within the next couple of months.

Any suggestions as to whether I should change the interior color, or should I just restore the existing color? Also, should I integrate suede into the mix, such as the shift ****, roof lining, middle of the seats, or should I go for leather all over?

You can check out exterior and interior shots of the car to help me out at http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/s...=1#post1806976

The current interior combo is light gray with dark gray dash.

Beautiful car! Since the interior is so "bright" I'd darken it up a bit. In my own car, I'm planning to convert the gray to black.

What shade of gray would work best with black? What do you think of Black on Black for my interior? Also was thinking of incorporating suede into the interior, such as headliner, dash and doors. What do you think?

Black on Black....Boring! If you are going to spend the time... do something interesting and unique.
White and Gray with Navy Accents
White and Tan with orange accents
White and Tan with Cream/yellow accents
Cream and Tan with Mocha accents
Black and White with Mustard accents
White and Cream with Black Accents
It's a silver car, you need some "color" in the interior!
HAVE FUN!!!

I love the Idea of suede for the headliner. I had that in my M5 and it was awsome. I think it really helps with sound as well. My stereo sounded very balanced in that car. I love black interiors. My M5 had all black with wood. For a Porsche I really love carbon fiber, the real stuff, black leather and brushed aluminum. You could add some dark or mid tone grey to the mix to add some color. Maybe a colored porsche crest somewhere stiched into the leather and Porsche script.

Good luck and please post pics of everything. Love where your car is going.

I like the idea of throwing a little color at it. If I had a silver car and was completely re-doing the interior I would go with mostly stock black leather, but I would throw some red into the mix,..maybe red hardbacks for the front seats or red piping on the floor mats and seats. Red rollbar,...red armrest/door pockets.

Black with subtle red accents gets my vote.

tim, check out the interior in srm_993's, it's one of the best i've seen for a silver car.

there's also an entire thread devoted to interiors..."who has the most beautiful interior..." or something like that.

Hey Guys, thanks for the input. I really like the idea of Black with red accents. Definately would try to incorporate the porsche insignia somewhere (maybe headrest) which would be in red against the black interior. Wow, getting very excited. Now I just have to find a place to do the job up to the standards I have in mind. Will let you guys know what happens with me.

Thanks again, and keep the suggestions coming.

I like the white/gray/blue scheme. With a silver car you need some contrasting datker color for the interior. Single color is boring, so if you have the opportunity, add some contrasting colors and suede inserts to the door panels and seats.
