For Sale: 97 C4S, Arctic Silver, 39k miles
I'm truly sad that I had to spend my Sunday afternoon writing a post like this, but I will be moving out of the country for work soon and can't realistically try to keep my car...
I'm in no great rush to get rid of her - but everyone says spring is the best time to sell, so I thought I'd try here first before advertising other places ( I'd love to see her end up with a Rennlister who will provide the proper care...)
First the quick facts and pics - a more detailed description is below:
-1997 C4s, Arctic Silver exterior, Classic Grey interior
-39k miles
-Full records and dealer stamps since day one (I am the 3rd owner)
-Factory options include: motorsound pkg, carbon shifter/hand-brake, hi-fi
stereo, cd-changer, crests in head rests, colored wheel crests, infra-red
security system...
-Options installed by me: Full factory Euro-spec MO33 suspension upgrade
installed less than 1500 miles ago (lowers car about 1.25" to european "sport"
height), clear front corner lights (I still have the originals), Gert's front
protection bar
-Beautiful condition, fanatically cared for, super-clean inside and out
SOLD
(please click for bigger pics)

Ok, more details here:
The car was purchased by me from TruSpeed Motorcars of Costa Mesa in
May of 2006. The PPI was done by Hergesheimer MotorSports and the few
little issues they found were all taken care of by Truspeed (door check
strap, steering rack leak, etc...nothing at all major). It also
underwent an Extremely Thorough post-purschase inspection at Callas
Rennsport in Torrance ,where it has been serviced ever since - those of
you who know Tony will understand what I'm talking about here : )
-Color is Arctic Silver with Classic grey interior and is in amazing
condition.
-Exterior is easily a 9 out of 10, interior a 9.5 (and I may be being
modest here as this is one of the cleanest 993's I have ever seen
outside of the 5000 mile show queens.)
I was originally not interested in a grey interior, but changed my mind
when I saw this car - It is so clean that it makes the car look even
newer. NO visible flaws at all to the interior except for a little bit
of wear to the drivers seat bolster - All the carpets of the floor and
door panels are spotless and silky soft, passenger seat looks unused. I
looked at many cars before buying this one, so I know how the
interiors can age with the seat starting to crack and the carpets feeling dried
out and brittle - this is not the case here. The exterior is also
near-perfect - I've listed some of the little flaws below... Overall the
car could pass for a well-maintained 15k mile example...I will happily
put it up against any other 993 used as a driver : )
-The car has been fanaticaly taken care of ( to an extreme OCD extent
if you were to ask my girlfriend... I think this may be a common thing
for us Porsche owners...?) and is really only used as a weekend driver.
- Never driven in rain, no short trips, always properly warmed-up, no
lugging the engine, never parked in close proximity of other cars...
-No bad stories, accidents, etc...
-No smoking/eating/drinking in the car
- Washed by hand every two weeks by me w/ interior cleaned and leather
treated. It also has a full-on 8 hour detail/hand-wax done every 6
months by Moe at Glistening Perfection in OC
- Full records from new including all dealer stamps. I have records
for everything - services, oil changes, tires, any accessory ever bought
for the car.
(the original owners keep everything, so I have keep up the tradition
and saved any receipt for anything ever done to or bought for the car)
- Comes with all accessories: Owners manuals,, spare tire, pump, tool
kit, original window sticker, 1 original switch blade key, 1 upgraded
key fob, original dealer brochure, etc...All options and door jam
stickers in place
---Only things to note:
- front bumper was resprayed prior to me buying the car ( I assume this
was done by Truspeed as I believe they do this to most of their cars?)
- a few small nicks in the paint of the hood and front bumper, but
really nothing bigger than a pin *****, and not noticeable from a few feet
away. ( stuff like this is pretty much unavoidable unless you never
drive the car)
- wheels were touched up by Truspeed as there were some curb rash
marks.
Since then one of the rear wheels got a small scrape from a pothole -
can be easily touched-up
- 2 or 3 small nicks on other places around the car (drivers rear wheel
arch, passenger side sill). The biggest of these is maybe 2-3 mm so
again, not really noticable at all. but I'm pointing them out because
they are there...
- small chip in top corner of windshield (about 5mm wide) - This has
been there since I bought the car 2 years ago and hasn't changed, so
should not be a problem.
-drivers side seat bolster shows some wear, but nothing unusual for a
well-maintained 30k mile car
Well, That's about it - I'm sad to have to let her go as she really is
my baby, but I knew the day had to come sometime so now it's time for
someone else to have a turn...
Please feel free to PM me with any questions or if anyone has requests
for additional pictures... I am also happy to exchange numbers to talk
more about the car.
For serious buyers I will try my best to have the car available for PPI
at the shop of your choosing, although nothing too far away please (I
am in Pasadena, CA)
Thanks for reading this far!
Cheers,
-Daniel

Sorry, forgot to add:
-The car has just come back from her yearly oil-change/check-up at Callas. This time they also did a full brake flush and transmission flush...
- Also just passed CA smog with no problems - next test due May of 2010
Cheers,
-Daniel

Sure, I guess there's no reason to keep it a big secret now...
My asking price was 52k and she sold for 50k in the end.
The PPI showed some little things that needed taking care of (windshield washers not working, pass. door mirror needed a new motor...) I maybe could have held out to try and get my asking price, but the buyer was so quick and easy to deal with that it wasn't really worth it for me. I tried to price mine reasonably under what a dealer like Truspeed would ask for the car, and I think what I got was fair...Now I just miss my car : (
