Default Help With RS Clutch & LWFW Parts list

I just got the parts for my RS LWFW and Clutch kit. I may have got a turbo pressure plate instead of the RS plate. I may have a turbo clutch too.

The pressure plate has a big orange stripe on it at it says:
Turbo 964.116.028.53

The flywheel is 964.102.239.31

I do have the bearing for the flywheel and the new bolts.

The clutch disk is 964.116.014.63

the clutch guide is the log tube. 950.116.813.30

The throwout bearing is 944.116.080.01

EDIT: I put the wrong number the 1st time. the starter ring is 964.114.143.31

sound like you are all set
964.116.014.63 I believe that this is the most recent version of the friction disk probably from a 997
964.102.239.31 993RS m003 single mass fly wheel also used on 964RS and 996 & 997 GT3
964.116.028.53 993tt pp

It should all work fine

Don't forget the 2 x needle bearing thingys for the fork thing "xfgdfhd" , I am having a brain fart can't remember what it is called. The thing that the clutch slave cylinder pushes in on. When you remove it, you have to punch out the needle bearing.

Wow, Thanks for the quick response. I started to search more and found the different pressure plate models.

There was a post saying the the 964 Turbo pressure plate wasn't a bad thing, from a performance standpoint.

I am on the fence about the extra clamping force of the turbo pressure plate on an NA car. I am not sure I wanted the turbo pressure plate and clutch. Something may have got lost in translation when I called sunset.

Now I am worried about the ring gear as well. Will it work, what is the difference in part numbers.

Robin,
when you recover and you find a part number that would be great. I am fighting a notchy clutch problem and I want to change everything out.

I think the bearings will be obvious once I split the trans from the engine.

BTW, I am dropping the engine this weekend.

PET to the rescue:

It is the release fork, you should get everything needed on the release fork and the operating shaft. The bearing, bushing etc.. Let me know if you need the part numbers

Also it is a good idea just to get new screws for the new longer tube. As the screws strip easily when you remove them. Cheap insurance.

I am working on an order myself for an RS setup ('97 C4S). I did not get an answer on my previous post, but this is the parts list that I came up with. Could one of the gurus chime in and see if anything needs updating/revisions?

1 964.102.239.31 Flywheel RS 11.05lbs
2 964.116.011.61 Clutch Disc / RS
3 964.116.028.90 Pressure Plate / RS
4 950.116.080.08 Clutch Release Bearing
5 950.116.813.06 Clutch Guide Tube
6 964.114.143.31 Starting Ring Gear
7 928.102.151.01 Bolts x9
8 N.014.715.3 Socket Screw 8 x 45 x9
9 931.102.111.00 Pilot Bearing
10 950.116.710.04 Cross Shaft for Release Bearing Fork (Do not order if below is available)
10 950.116.086.KT (Cross Shaft Kit)
11 950.116.086.06 Fork
12 999.113.426.41 Rear Main Seal

I also heard there may be a way to order an RS Kit, whereas all parts come in one package (any related part #?).

Hopefully this is not deemed a threadjack, but I figured the list I have been working on would coincide with others', so there would hopefully not be double work.

964.116.028.90 Pressure Plate / RS
that is the 964 RS part, the 993 version(964.116.027.03 or 964.116.028.03 no paint code) is supposed to have more clamping force and the 993tt(964.116.028.53 mit red stripe) even more

I called to get the right number. It looks like the pressure plate can be the following:

964.116.028.90 or 964.116.028.53. There seems to be overlap between the two pressure plates and they were used on both NA and Turbo cars. Sunset did say that they couldn't get the .90 part for a while only the .53. So who knows.

Also, the clutch is a 996 part number now. I got the wrong one and they are sending the new one.

I also edited the ring gear part number. I typed it wrong.
