Default WTB: CDR-220 with 993 faceplate

Thought I'd put it out there....can't hurt!

I want to buy a GOOD - EXCELLENT condition cdr-220 cd radio with the modified faceplate for the 993. If anyone wants to unload one, please pm me.

If you have one with the standard faceplate, let me know as well. We would have to figure in the cost of a new faceplate into the price somehow.

thanks,
sam

The 993 faceplate was $150 when last I checked. I'm living with the wrong one for now while scouting for a deal on the 993 version.

Is the traffic pro 993 friendly or do you need to replace that screen as well?

Ebay ad doesn't say it's got the converted face plate for the 993 viewing angle. I just changed mine over and it was $200 from Becker with a $100 refund after I returned the original 996 type face plate. So net cost was $100.

contact Becker NA http://www.beckerautosound.com/
I don't think they have anymore "New" ones, but you can get a remanufactured one with a warranty, they will do the 993 faceplate as well.
they also have the cables for aux input for an iPod hook up.

DIRECT fit, didn't have to do anything, but pull out, unplug, plug in the new one.
Ok, I had to run the Nav antenna.

IMHO, it's a STEEL at $300, new in the Porsche Box, & it says PORSCHE on the screen when you turn it on.

It's better then the 210, the nav antenna is under the front defroster, just removed that strip, & placed the antenna there.

make sure to remove the 210 "can" before putting the 220 in. The CDR220 is slightly bigger than the 210.

That doesn't seem right, at least for a face plate trade - I thought I only paid around $50.
