Default wheel question for 95 993

Does anyone know if 996 18 inch turbo twists will fit on a 95 993. I know they fit later year 993s, but from what I understand there is something different about the 95 993s.

thanks in advance

18-inch wheels will fit on '95 993's but you should install a steering rack brace. An archive search will give you all the info you'll ever need. Good luck!

Not the widebody wheels--offset is wrong. The regular "technology" 996 twist wheels will fit from the narrow body Carreras though. Steering brace is needed for 18s as stated before.

all you need to know is o/s(ET) and width to know what fits
n/b
front
8" ET50 +/-
rear
10" ET65 +/-

there is a little wiggle room on the ETs, a bigger # sticks outboard a little more is all. AFA the lip clearance is concerned, The higher the ride height the lower the ET can be used

look here to see how some different wheels fit in 993 wheel wells.

There is no way a 10"ET47 is gonna fit in a narrow body wheel well

You either have a w/b or have mistaken ET

Go look at your wheels, OEM's will have the width and ET on either side of the valve stem

unbelievable.

these are 996 4S wheels (winter) 8x10ET50 front and 10x18ET47 rear, definitely. and of course they are originals (porscheOEM). and of course the offset is on the wheels (10 o 47). and of course my car is a slim '94 C2. look at the pics. end of discussion (for me)...

My sentiments exactly, the ET 47 10x18 is a winter wheel from an 02 C4S, widebody.

here is a diagram showing a 993n/b rear wheel well

note how a 10" ET 65 sits?, note how a 10" 56 sits? a 10" 47 will sit 11mm further outboard than a 56

of course if the car is at SUV rideheight anything is possible.

now i know you're right. my car is wrong and my wheels are wrong too.

but take a final look at the pics of my 993-suv and note how the ET47 sits.
and have fun with your paperwork...

So happy to hear that you are happy. My post is not based on paper, I have used 10s w/ ET65 and ET56 on my car, any lower ET would never work

Just out of curiousity, would spacers make a lower ET work for the rear?

Spacers can only lower ET not raise it.

Widebody 993s will run 20mm spacers on an ET65 10", to run where an ET40 10" would fit correctly

@nuff:
no. spacers lower the ET even more. so if you take a 10x18ET65
with 18mm spacers you will end with a ET47. JUST LIKE ME

@bill:
took some pics of my monstertruck a few minutes ago - just for you.

finally - believe it or not: 10x18ET47 fits/looks/works great on a NB 993C2

rgds (maybe there is something wrong with your cars rear end/axle...)
