RING AND PINION
Dear friends,
sorry I could not find this info searching the forum.
what Ring and Pinion should I order to reduce the gears of my euro 993s?....I would prefer FVD ones but I do not know wich of them is the right one for street and occasional track use.
Any advise about labour cost will be apreciated

Stock g50/21
The worst 2 features of the stocl /21 are the short 1 and the over long 6
changing to 8:32 makes 1 way too short and 6 too short for most road use.
here's a pretty nice and reasonbly priced alternative. Just use a slightly shorter 6

I heard that S model have even longer gearing than std 993.
For my likings, 1st is unusable, 2nd is sometimes too long, 3rd makes a big drop compared to 2nd....rest of them are ok for me.
...maybe I will go for 9:31

Call Mike at Paul Guard near Sacto. He will run computer models for you. R&P is $2405.
That first gear becomes a stump puller eludes me. Top speed stock---39mph SHort R&P 34 mph. If 34 MPH is a useless gear now I guess I will be launching in second. .
Guard 503 878 4499--no affl.etc tho I could not believe the amount of time they took to explain things. By the time I got off the phone with Mike and Paul they felt like family.
