What the seller sezz is ....
"If you increase the pressure of petrol and optimize the lambda-value, you can get 35 hp more than before!"

That doesn't appear to be a claim for the airbox persay - but for an increase in fueling ( rail pressure and/or injector size) and a DME remap .... or chip job.

So, what does a rewrite of the DME give these days? .... assuming the airbox to be zero.

Depends if you have had any other mods done, but the standard is around 15hp.

You'd get better performance just leaving the cover off. I do not believe any air intake change to a stock 993 motor can yield more than five horsepower- if that. If somebody can prove me wrong- via independent testing- I'm listening.

If it were that easy Porsche would have done it.

My car came with a cone filter. I got rid of the cone and replaced it with the motor sound box and the car runs much, much better.

Wow, they went thru quite a bit of effort to get absolutely zero performance gain.

Total B.S. ! !

"This extreme racing-airbox made of pure carbon-fibre is designed and manufactured in germany."
He does say it is "extreme"... that alone gets you 5hp!

"The airbox is purpose-built for porsche engines 993, which will be retrofitted in elderly cars."
I'm just glad to hear our cars aren't "elderly" like those older 911s
At least I THINK that is what he is trying to say

And who can't resist extra oxygen!
"...at the end of this filter there is a venturi-funnel, so the air will accelerate and condense. Your engine has 300 percent more oxygen than normally."

I would have given him bonus points if he had used all caps in the ad.

"Your engine has 300 percent more oxygen than normally"
An open airbox can give 800% more air.
