Were both years Polar Silver? When did Arctic Silver start?

'96—Polar silver (no Arctic silver)
'97—Arctic silver (no polar silver)

So Polar has a blue hue to it and Arctic is more traditional German silver?

Not 100% but I think Arctic is still not the pure silver as was offered on cars up to the964, having a slight gold/bronze tone to it. Not really noticeable unless parked beside the earlier colour. Again, I'm no expert.

Polar has the more blue-ish look to it.
I thought Polar was an option in '97?
