The B5 S4 had/has its fans- me being one. Its a classic body shape (for a sedan anyway), easy to mod, goes like stink and has IMO one the best luxury interiors.
If the turbos did not meltdown (big ticket repair), the car was reliable and fun to drive. Can't imagine tracking one though. HEAVY.

Is either one going for $20K? That is the offer I put in on this one. They just called me back saying some one else is coming to drive it, & will pay more, and we talked & out the door payment of $25,500.
I think I just lost it do to a couple of thousand. Oh, well, actually, I'm totally pissed! But what can you do? I'm not going to pay more do to other interest.

You've got an awesome C4S. Do yourself a favor and buy a DD. $25k buys you a nice 07 A4 S-line with warranty. Two 993s makes sense if one of them is a dedicated track car...but then you need more than $25k.

My previous DD was a 96 C4S. I loved it and drove it for years in all seasons with absolutely no issues. Had an extra set of wheels/winter tires for snow and cold - and never had a problem. In fact, I got better traction than people around me running 'all season' tires.
Drive an 06 GTI now, which is nice, but I miss the torque, sound of the engine, and gerneral 'feel' of the 993.
I say buy the 993 for a daily driver, and enjoy your drive. Every time I got into mine, it would put a smile on face...

Yea, I knew that. But it was worth asking. I am buying a DD, just a lower end 993, that I can do what ever to, & not worry about it being "stock" or what not.
I'm also looking at a couple 996's, but they just don't do it for me.

I hear ya. A high-mile, less-than-pristine 993 will probably be more fun than your mint C4S because you can drive it hard and not care so much about a rock chip or door ding. This is what I liked about my old, 80k mi silver C4S.
Have you driven a 996?

Yes, I have driven a 996, they are nice, but, well not the same.
