My first car at 16 was a '67 MGB, fun car but no speed racer. I enjoyed working on that car...good thing too.
Second was a BMW but it was a 1600, not exactly a speed demon either.

My first car was a Renault R11. 1100 cc 5-speed rear engine car. I used to tell everyone that it was front engine, but it fell out and I threw it in the trunk.

One guy I picked up hitch hiking called it a lunchbox without a handle. Speaking of handling, this car did. That is, if you didn't mind going up on two wheels in a turn.

The car was a true lightweight. Renault took weight seriously and stripped everything off the car that wasn't absolutely needed.

Renault demonstrated this by only using three lug nuts per wheel.

My first car was a 1978 VW Bus. It was not fast to say the least.....but at least it was air cooled!

Chris, for post 10,000 (congratulations), would you like to say what the PCA award in the avatar is? I can't read it, but it looks impressive.
