Congrats, she's a beauty. I like the wheels a lot, too. I'm not a big chrome fan, but those look really, really nice on your car.

Congratulations - great looking car! And those non-VarioRam 95 993s have a unique quality about them, not to say that the lack of the SAI/CEL problem is mighty pleasing! 
Don't feel bad - the number of cars I have bought without a PPI and that turned just great are many, and some of them high mileage Porsche. Although strongly recommended, you had good evidence that this was likely to be a good car given all the circumstances, personal contact, all service records, etc. - and personally that is just as good if not better than getting a PPI but not having a car's history.
