Price Check/Feeler-- 1997 C2S

Had no intention of selling my car, but I've stumbled across a 993 TT in a color combo I've always lusted after...and with the right miles.

Some people here will probably think I am insane. My C2S is in this week for a suspension upgrade (RoW M030/Bilstein HD setup) and a top end, so I haven't even driven it after these upgrades (which should be complete next week).

I bought it last April, after looking for a C2S for a very long time. Purchased from original owner. Here is my "first day report" from the PPI and sale, with some background and lots of pics. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=34752

Currently, the car has about 31,500 miles and was put to bed for the winter until I decided to have the above work done, which is described here. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=34752

Can you guys give me a sense of what you think it would sell for? I'd need a strong price for this transaction to make sense. Anecdotally, I'm aware of
C2S's with similar miles and suspension upgrades selling for in the mid-high 50's.

And, in the interest of full disclosure, I have not seen the TT I'm considering in person, only in pictures, and I have not had a PPI done on it. Nor have I negotiated with the seller beyond his asking price, which is somewhat higher than I think the car should/will sell for.

So, in the end, I'm trying to get a sense of what the market/value would be for my car before taking any next steps.

Thanks.

Wow... another low mileage S coming to a market near you! I am going to stay as far away as possible from driving a turbo. It took me 3 weeks to get over my friends 330XI Coupe and another friends RS4. I can't wait for the Spring. Wait until you drive it after the suspension install, a whole new car. Good luck.

That's awfully low miles for a top end. I would think that would raise a red flag to a lot of potential buyers about the car's prior treatment. You mentioned excessive oil burning. Was there also an SAI issue?

That is a beautiful car and I think doing the Top End is a real +.Hopefully you are having them put in harder Valve Guides in.The originals are too soft and thats why they wear out.If this is done the motor is good to go for a long time and won"t burn any oil.
The suspension is a big plus as well.I would put it at $55,000 to $60,000.I got $58,900 for mine with about the same mileage.Mine did have Full Leather though.Yours might as well.If I was in the market I would be all over it.It will be good to go.No worries what so ever.Good Luck

No SAI issue. Just oil consumption. This is a common, and well known issue (valve guide wear) affecting many 993's. I think a knowledgeable potential buyer would be happy to know it's been done.

Many thanks-- Yes, the superior, non-OE guides are going in.

Agreed, especially if they know the person/shop who is doing the work.....one of the best in the business.
