Default New Mods...wheel re-finish and detail!

Hi all,
Well, I took a leap of faith and decided to refinish a set of wheels. While I was in Iraq I had purchased (on this forum) a set of fairly thrashed turbo-twists and had them delivered back home so they would be waiting for me.

Here's the worst of them...

After gobbing the epoxy on...I knew I was past the point of no return...but, how bad could it be, right?
-Here's the mid-way shot, after sanding:

I could have done a better job with the finishing....and I tried a Dremel midway that only made matters worse.
So here's the result, after some rubbing compound and polish!

I then clayed, polished and did the P21-S thing....using a PC orbital buffer. I'm pretty pleased with the results.

I have also recently added the HID lights, the FisterD modded mufflers and the sport exhaust tips. I love this car!
Of course, the suspension is next.

I will probably be selling a perfect set of 17" Cups with great tires shortly!

Thanks to all of the brave DIYers whose instructions I followed

/Doug

Great job...

I just bought some used hollows... one of which I have to fix. Do you still have the DIY link?

Looks good and you can't beat P21S on red.

Sorry, no luck posting the link. Search for wheel refinish in this forum and you'll find 2-3 great DIY's right at the top!

I used the wurth touch up kit from classic motoring. I applied 4 coats of clear and a good amount of polish in order to give it a good shine.

Thanks for all of the compliments!

I picked up a "perfect" 996 TT wheels only to find out both rears are missing a bunch of clear coat!

Car looks great. Going to look even better when you lower it.
