Default Valuation Request on 95 Carrera Cabrio

28K miles, guards red, black interior, top is in great condition. The car looks like the day it rolled off the line - all manuals and documentation. Always garaged. No rain. No snow. Never raced. Non-smoke

The owner is a hard core PCA guy and is asking 39.5K for it.

Let me know what you guys think.

I think it's on the high side of the pricing scale, but not really that bad. Have a ppi and if that checks out and you want it, buy it. I know others have paid more for less, and some less for more but you shouldn't worry about that.

32-35k is more in line with reality.
Not apple's to apple's-but similar- I just purchased a 95 Guards Red Cab. Mint condition with a new factory top, Fabspeed exhaust. 993 TT brakes, 18"Speedline wheels, H&R coilovers, RS steering wheel, shifter & handbrake. Mileage is 79k for
29k.
Good Luck

The mileage is relatively low for 13 yo and as discribe sounds like car is very good condition . A $5 k premium for that car is not out of line . But the question you have to ask yourself is ..... what do I want out of this car for ? 1 ) If`s a daily driver or to do some track with it it may is not be best move . Better buy a higher mileage well sorted out car . 2) If for pleasure and show n shine reasons then it is a good deal .

If is a cab n colour combo YOU desire and in your budget like they say " don`t worry be happy " buy the car .

PS . do your homework : PPI and All

Cheers Guy

I'm going with 33-36k because of mileage but as brief alluded to, if you're going to drive it a lot, you are probably better off getting a higher mileage car at a lower price because you are going to lose a lot of money in depreciation if you run up a ton of miles.

In 8/06 I paid $34.5k for mine with 20,500 miles with the mods as stated below (due to a small puncture, mine did need a new top and headliner - $1,900 installed). If the suspension in your car still needs to be upgraded, I think it is priced a bit too high. PPI, PPI, PPI.

How bad do you want it? Not many red 95 cabs out there with 28K miles.

Default That's all the money

Just from my perusings, and buying a very similar condition 95 cab a few months ago (23K miles), I'd say that is all the money. However, if the tires are fresh, that is worth close to a thousand dollars, if you don't have to ship it, that is worth close to a thousand dollars, and if it's what you want--priceless!
If you offer him 37,500, he sure should take it unless he simply doesn't want to leave any meat on the bone for you.
Good luck!
