Anyone used this 'chip remover product' ?
http://drcolorchip.com/
I spotted the ad on 'Excellence' and was hoping one or two of you guys might have more knowledge of the product. Stone chips are a real pita in Ireland , I add a few every week so there's little point in getting them blown . |
I have 2 bottles (1 for my Audi & 1 for pcar), but hvaen't tried them yet. It has gotten too cold around here to give them a try. Interested in pointers to using them. I thought I'd "learn" on my Audi DD.

I have used this product on my polar silver 96 with great results, albeit time consuming.

Yes, I've used pretty good results (no blobs). Would recommend

That's great to hear , thanks guys.
I also like the sound of practicing on another car , so I'll order up some for my trusty Civic. |
I'm ordering some today. Nothing at all to lose with trying.
Beats having the car taken into a shop to get done. |

Beats having the car taken into a shop to get done. Could this product in some way harm the existing paintwork , ie is the rubbing solution abrasive? Could it make it more difficult for the paintshop if I decide to get the front of the car re-painted at some stage ? Can I successfully detail (zymol) the area after the touch up has been completed? Let me know how you get on! |
This stuff is great. It is easy to apply (no blobs) and the rubbing solution works flawlessly. I have also polished and waxed my car a number of times since using it without any problems. I have a black car and it gets waxed 4X per year. I hope this helps.

I have used a kit from Langka which is similar and have had great results
|
Thanks again , I'm off to order up!
|
Saw this at Parade this year and for those that have used it, how well does it fill in the hole? Do you still have a valley to catch wax or does it get flush with the surface?

Check first Shamrock. Hopefully they will reply this time because this stuff sounds really good. |
Sent them an email yesterday to which I received a reply. Unfortunately they will not ship to Australia. The reply I received states "We have been told without special certification, we are unable to ship to Australia due to restrictions imposed by your government on shipment of hazardous materials (paint) into your country.
My only hope is that the get a distributor for the product in Australia. Regards Jim |
