Super Grandma
What great pictures! Both of you were very fortunate to have a special relationship. She looks like she certainly enjoyed life to the fullest. I pray to God I'll feel the same way until my last breath.

Shannon,
Nice thread. We talk cars too much sometimes and forget the human side of car ownership.
In 2005, when my sister was dying from ovarian cancer, I took her for a ride in my Ruf, down the Pacific Coast Highway to a Sunday brunch in Seascape. She was never a car person but showed real interest in the story about the Ruf. We had no pictures but I remember that trip vividly, as she really appreciated our time together.
Thanks for the reminder. And a happy new year to all.

Interesting bit: my grandmother wasn't around even when I got my first Porsche, but she had some interesting car stories to share having been born in 1901 and being a very independent woman. My favorite story (which she told over and over because she couldn't remember!) was about her and her girlfriend hitchiking from Jacksonville, FL to NY city and back again.

What a WONDERFUL Story. Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of the real world we forget it's the little simple things that make for wonderful memories.
Thanks for bringing a BIG smile to my face

Terrific, made me weep. recalled the one and only time i gave my mom a ride from Philadelphia when i was an intern to my sisters in New Jersey, exit 9 new brunswick in my 67 911E Targa in February with the top off and the heat on. She loved it and reminded me of it till she died.
I thank you so much for your post..made me remember the feeling.
