I had a "hyper silver" powder coating on my MY02 wheels.

I paid $600 for my wheels, 2 of which were badly curbed. I had them refinished for $600.

Typical cost for a decent set is $800 to $1500. Buddy just bought a nice set with new tires for $1200 including shipping.

Thanks for all the feedback, Rob, thanks for the pic. That is a little too much black, I need some contrast.
If I can get them cheap enough, I can always have them refinished.

Just lurking over here but this is how it looks on a 964... a fellow rennlisters car.

Personally I think it looks the biz... about as stealth as you can get.

I have black 02's with the silver/alloy edge...fine condition at the moment, but when the times comes for a refurb I will change them to graphite without the silver edge.

I think the black / silver wheels would look better on a black car than a yellow one

I have to admit I am with Mark....just too much black for my taste.....I would like a lot better with a silver edge to them......I think the all back is just too overpowering

David,

I love black cars with silver wheels, especially silver mesh wheels like yours.

All-black wheels seem to look especially good on cars with the wilder paint jobs like speed yellow, bright green or orange.

Black is nice but I'd personally go for dark grey to contrast against a black 993 (or a silver 993 for that matter )

Chris Walrod should post a pic of his 993 to compare against Rob's car.

^^^ I dig the gunmetal color on those wheels. All black is a bit too much for me. I'm looking for a good set of MY02 wheels in 18" for my 933. I have some 19's that I plan to sell and my twists are too trashed for street use any more.

Love this place.. every time I'm thinking about doing something with my car there is a new thread containing info on exactly what I want to do!

Flat black would look better.

I personally like the all black look - as Mike mentioned we're gonna paint the calipers red to accent the belts..

i think the blacked out look is very unique. different strokes for different folks i guess.

Here is one -- not the best image. These were painted a darker grey -- very near Seal Grey.
