Do these 17" Cups look a little hi-priced?
Found these on Fleabay...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...spagenameZWDVW Never seen them priced so high - are they going up in value? |
Up in value, why....
yes they are. Why I have a set I'll let you have for $1,200:)
In reality, I think the seller is Delusional....$475 to $700 seems to be the range, condition dependent, I would think. IMHO, of course. |
No bids yet ....

I've sold plenty of sets of Cup wheels with tires for in excess of $1,250 USD.....the last set for $1,500 around 6 months go..........having said that.........my wheels were not nicked or scratched (like new), the tires had 50%+ tread left and center caps were included.
These ones look a little beaten up actually. |

Hey Marlon, Danny (DJF1) was offering a set if you are in the market.
The set that I bought recently was priced at $600 (with another $200 in shipping). One of the wheels turned out to be damaged and finding a single rear replacement in a hurry ended up costing me $400.00. I called a dozen places in two states trying to find that wheel. No body seemed to have them. A nice set of these will sell immeadiatly for $700, and might bring $800 if the seller is willing to wait. The price for a set with cosmetic issues is anywhere from $400 to $600. |
He also has these, which look pretty cool, if you are looking for 17" wheels.

Average condition street wheels with what look from the code to be 7 year old tires for a thousand bucks - he's smoking dope and not sharing :-)

I'm surprised none of you noticed that the fronts are 7.5s. So, while they're certainly not factory 993 wheels, if they are factory 7.5s, the value is easily $1000+ for the set.
Or they're replicas. |

You misunderstood. IF they're real 928 GTS/968 M030 fronts, they're not overpriced.

Pretty lousy listing. No where does it mention how much life the tires have left. Just one lousy picture
of the tread with no clue as to whether the rest are about the same. Nice deep dig in the one wheel as well. No Concours with these. |
Looking at the backside of the spokes I think these are re-pops. I don't see the deep grooves that are
cast in along the inside edges of the factory wheels. |

I would want to confirm the pedigree with a Porsche p/n. If they WERE Porsche wheels, I would guess that they would post it.
I own two of the factory 7.5" X 17's from a 968 MO30 and the inner size markings are not the same as the two fronts in this ad, they are aftermarket and not worth the price he is asking. You could actually buy 4 brand new aftermarkets for around that price. Good Luck in your wheel search.........................ZP44 |
I've been looking at these wheels for a week & called about them awhile ago- this is their 3rd relist I think. The guy said they were off a 993 Carrera & I said that I thought the 993 only came w/7" fronts & he said they had 7.5's too & made no mention of them being aftermarkets. I thought they were real, but then started looking at the backs closely. I THINK REAL Porsche wheels list the offset right after the wheel size, such as: "7X17 ET55" or something similar... Anyone care to elaborate on how to tell if they are 100% real??? And better still- anyone here have a pair of factory 7.5 fronts they'd like to sell???
