NEW 9m Racing tuneable length 993/964 race headers
I have started a thread for the headers on the 964 forum:

30 hp for the 4.0 liter motor. I'm interested in the stock 3.6 data.
4000 pounds is $8,200.19. Unfortunately, not cost effective for me. I'd rather spend that money on eight coaching sessions with a pro. Oh, well.

$8000 for headers is asinine. No fault of Colin's...darned exchange rate....but come to think of it, $4000 for headers is also asinine! Then again, the amount of $$ I have put in to my cars is asinine as well...some things we just have to have...
Mark- I think I read in the other thread it netted a 10hp increase on the dyno.

Love the adjustable feature but priced higher than that of our Champ car headers (in Inconel), I also feel they are costly.

OK, I know, it's always down to money at the end of the day. Don't you think I would love to be able to sell them cheaply and still make money? If the concensus is that they will have to be half that price to sell, no problem - I can start up a limited company to handle the sales, send the jigs out to China to be made from a suitably shiny metal, import 100 sets at a time for £500 a set, sell them all for £2000 a set, make a fat profit and then fold the company before the faulty ones start coming back. Is that what you all want, cheap crap that looks good and costs less than half the price?
The truth is that that 9m is here for the long haul, so if I decide to make or sell anything I have to be confident to put my name to it before it even sees the market and this system is no exception. With respect to the headers, I am having them fabricated in the UK by a shop that also makes F1 headers, the pipes are properly argon purged welded from the best possible material. To date, as well as spending my own time coming up with the design and testing, I have paid out for several prototypes and the subsequent machined tooling, costs which will have to be recovered from selling a reasonable number of systems. That said, we are reviewing production techniques and costs, so if there is a way in the future that we can make the system cheaper without compromising quality we will.
I also think that you should look around at the alternatives, I know of one other manufacturer of high quality stainless headers who charges between $3500 and $6100 for just the headers collectors alone and the full Cargraphic 993 N-GT system costs around £5000 in the UK.

Good for you Colin, I like to see somone defend their work/passion. People like you continue to researching and develop cutting edge products for our wonderful cars. Some items are expensive and some are luxuries, however, there will always be a group of buyers that can afford the best and in turn keep companies like yours steaming ahead. Unfortunately, I'm not a member of that group Keep up the great work.

For price whiners - and I am sometimes one -
let's see - a 3.8 (ie:RS) conversion yields about the same HP and costs how much? A supercharger yields a ton more HP but with some lingering concerns about safety/reliability, especially under track/race conditions, and costs a load.
Eh, for good stuff you usually have to pay. Or don't get it. But you're driving a Porsche when you could be in a $3000 Miata or Honda Civic. Constructively criticize the design or construction or challenge the effect, but the guy isn't flipping salvage cars. He is doing work and ought to be paid.
