Default A rant about communication

This happens every time there are major wildfires in te So Cal area. I live up in the hills above Calabasas in between Topanga and Malibu. Fortunately I have been spared fires getting closer than about 2 miles from me over the last decades' several fires.
However, I am unbelievably frustrated that we have so much television coverage and not one station—after hours and hours of coverage—will tell you where the fires are. They sort of do in very general terms, but they are so busy showing close ups of water dropping helicopters and zooming in on large houses ablaze that they forget, or dont bother, to tell the viewer where the fire boundaries are.
Couple that with Charter communication shutting down their Malibu-Calabasas cable internet to "protect their node" for 4 days I ended up getting the most accurate news from CCN and Fox.

Its very sad that the national news gives better local info than the local news.

Bit of a stretch that - using the words "news" and Fox together in the same sentence.

Here in the Lake Forest/Foothill Ranch/ Portola Hills areas, the fire activity has slowed down. The fire has now moved away from these homes and businesses and is moving up the hill into the Cleveland National Forest. Fire personnel has doubled in those areas. The canyons are the danger areas.
The air quality in South County is terrible, we are being hit from the Pendleton fires also, but we did have fog at the coast so the humidity is increasing with the onshore winds. Thank goodness. We have many customers in the area who were on evacuation orders or on watch. The last few days we had to send the techs home early because of the smoke and ash, today should be better. My houseguests from San Diego were able to go home and "repopulate" their neighborhoods but San Diego still has some very high risk areas.
The firefighters, law enforcement and emergency crews have done a great job ! They have had some hard obstacles to overcome in responding to these fires. Thank you.

carlsbad area is looking pretty safe right now.
we're back in the house.
lottsa ash everywhere.
as you drive / walk you leave trails in the ash

one "neat" thing?
many people drove their interesting cars to "safe" parking lots at malls / shopping centers
i saw some really cool vehicles that are normally stashed in peoples garages.

now the cleaning begins...................
