man you got some real problems...scary...you are way off..
stop drinking before you contemplate your thoughts..
**i was trying to help my friend buy a car a few weeks ago...he finally found one in texas...i even posted photos....the guy with the targa on ebay is a schmuck...
BTW, what are you doing on the 993 aircooled forum...go back to the water cooled where you belong...write your drunken rants over there.

William you did the right thing posting about that car. The ebay auction does not disclose the problems with the car, therefore you placed the warning rightfully so...
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've owned my 993 for five years and will probably keep it for at least another 20 or 30 years. I'm what's known as an "enthusiast" and I detest opportunistic car flippers who treat my favorite car like it's a penny stock. I'm glad the guy didn't let you steal his car, and only wish you would have respected his good sense, and left it there instead of exacting revenge by posting this ridiculous thread. As if people on these boards -- most of whom truly are 993 enthusiasts -- wouldn't have figured out that the roof was broken.
I did not see an "revenge" or any wrong doing in this post. The bottom line is that the seller is dishonest and we found out about it. This is the beauty of rennlist. If you want to pay what the seller is asking, it is really your deal, but having the knowledge before you are about to waste your time and money is the real value here.

danny appreciate your opinion of the situation...alot of guys buy sight unseen using ebay and everyone should stay clear of this car
if anyone ever has a question regarding my integrity or honesty they can always search my ebay username (groovzilla1959) and look at my feedback or ask many of the 356 registry owners that i have known from owning and enjoying these cars...my super sunroof coupe is on the registry website in the member car gallery:
http://www.356registry.org/Members/Ceriale/index.html
here is another good friends car:
http://www.356registry.org/Members/Adams/
interesting story on that one in the link...
years ago when i commuted to my photo studio in san francisco i would buy 356's and 911's and ship them home to seattle...some i drove/some i restored/some i sold and some i kept.
...one of my best friends jim peters is the person i was helping look for the 993 targa on ebay....i met jim when i sold him a '57 356A coupe 10 years ago and let him use my garage to restore it...
over the past 15 years i have sold lots of parts and cars because i collected alot of them and enjoy the pursuit and fun of it.
"the porsche world is too small to drop bombs"
i think this will be my new signature....

Dear richardew415,
Glass roof has problems and I have just kept it closed. Dealer wanted $1800 to fix it.

ummm i don't think so...take a closer look at the photos...they are the same photos from last month when the roof was stuck open....maybe he has closed the roof since??
had the roof still been stuck in the open position i was going to suggest a buyer purchase one of the sellers solar panels that he has on auction and just mount one on the roof.
what do you think?

Listen, pal, I may throw back a few before work but like my uncle used to say, the day I can't do my job drunk is the day I put down the scalpel and retire.

Thanks!
I don't own a 993. Perhaps that's why I'm so cranky...?
