Default Pilot Sport II's....

According to Michelin, the two closest sizes to
the stock tire that they sell are following:
205/55ZR17
255/40ZR17

Is this a tire size that will fit on a slightly lowered car with no issues or spacers
required..... just want to be sure

The only difference is that the owner's manual says 205/50 ZR17 and Michelin's is a 55

So does that mean just a tad narrower?

no, just a slightly taller sidewall. 50 means the sidewall height is 50% of the tirewidth and 55 means it's 55% of the tirewidth.

So the diameter is slightly larger? Not that it matters....

Yes, it is a slightly larger diameter. I don't know the p-car well enough to know if that slight of a dif matters. The other option is to go slightly wider with lower profile to keep dia. saem, say a 225/45-17
