I can't speak for the 997 GT3, but I enjoy my 996 GT3 more than my 993 with PSS9s by a wide margin. While I still think the 993 looks better, none of that matters when the GT3 starts screaming all the way to 8200 rpm.

I do think that the 996 GT3 will still find a niche over the 997 GT3 because it is more primal for those wanting no frills in their drive. Only time will tell.

Has anyone ever noticed that we get waved at by all 911 owners driving all types old and new including 997's but VERY rarely 996's? Is it because they are so used to waving at Boxsters by mistake or just because our cars look SOOO much better?

You can have your waves from Porsche owners, I respect that, but the one that I dearly love comes from the kids at my daughter's elementary school and when I pick my son up at high school. Now there is true lust after a car that “they” see as timeless…..plus they all want a ride in the RSCS look.

Seriously, the people that drive the 996’s in my neck of the woods – well most by-standers can’t tell the difference between a 996 and a Boxster. Now that’s sad.

The 993 is so jaw droppingly attractive... I understand this all now.
