I don't know what shops you're visiting

No effin' joke. Very reputable shops in SoCal charge that...easy.

From prior post of mine:

"My clutch was replaced at 40k, and the invoices from the dealer are around $4.3k....T.Callas also quotes between $4-4.5k. However, I'm confident with some diligence and help from others on this board, you could probably get it done for $3k, or slightly under. The parts themselves, are around $1400-$1600, but it's the labor that really pushes those figures higher."

$4K is not a bad deal (for a stealer) if they also do the flywheel, throw out bearing, clutch release fork & shaft, slave cylinder & master cylinder, connecting hose, flywheel seal and main shaft seal while they are in there. If you pay half ($2K), you are ahead of the game.
FYI, I have had the above done to my car 6 months ago. I purchased all the parts on-line for about $1.8K and my independent shop charged 10 hours for labor.

Default thanks for all you help.

I have another question.

So how much should it be just to replace the clutch??

how much should it be to do a clutch job? So that is the clutch and the typical things people do when they replace a clutch on a 993? and what are they?

Taking in all this information, I am thinking this is not a good situation to go back to the dealer to get this done. Because I may go back and they will say the clutch is $2000 per your purchase contract but people usually doe x,y,z and it will be another $1800.

Or knowing they are not making any mony on this deal. Do a sub-standard job.

What do you guys think.

Factory RS clutch & FW are $1500, then labor, what 4-6hrs?

I would upgrade, & not put in the duel mass FW back in.
