Power lock problem

Power lock problem
Hoping someone can help with my power lock problem. My remote works to disable the immoblizer but will not remotely lock or unlock the doors. When I press the button on the remote, the led in the door contiuously quickly blinks and continues to do so until I release the button. It seems some signal is reaching the car but does not activate the power locks.

A little more info that might give you more experienced wrenches(I have little to no experience) a better chance to help me is that neither of the doors unlocks so I don't think it's the locking motors themselves. From my searches, I'm guessing it might be the control unit. Where is the control unit and it is a big deal to replace it by myself?

I hear you asking, but don't really know the answer. I had to replace the acutator on my car because one side did not work. It was an easy job. But, like you said, I doubt that is it.
