Best Price On Bilstein PSS9's
Greetings all! I have decided to put a set of Bilstein PSS9's on my '95 993. Been searching the web for the best price and have found them advertised for $2,295. Anyone found a better price? The fine print seems to indicate something else is needed in addition to the shocks for installation in the 993's. Pointers would be greatly appreciated as well as information on the most liked setup on adjustments. Many thanks.

In the new world of the worthless US dollar, that sounds pretty low. I bought mine for less from an eBay seller. I note that none of the sellers I was looking to purchase from list a kit right now, but you can very easily email them to see what they'd charge. For instance, thepartsladi lists a kit for a 986 and a 996, both for under $1,800. Expect to pay a premium for a 993 kit, but worthwhile asking how much they'd want.
There's nothing else other than the kit that I needed for installation.

IMHO, you will need two extra lock rings for the lower swaybar link collars, so that you have one on top and one on bottom of the collars to lock them in place. Please do a search on this subject for lots of info on what happens if that collar turns out of position on the threaded strut housing.

I just put some on my car last month. I paid $2,200.00 from Performance Products + Freight. That was the best deal I found on a new set and a good company. No Affil.....

I've been thinking about this upgrade too. TireRack has them for $2,285 shipped.
How can I tell if they are the one's with the recommended longer threads?
Can any suspension shop do this install correctly or is it something the dealer should do? (DIY isn't an option for me)

Imported auto parts aren't the only items that are costing more due to the weak dollar: suits from England, electronics from Japan, softwood from Canada...I'm really glad we're blowing $10B a month on this war!

Bilstein Shocks For The 993
Well, as most of you said, the Bilstein PSS9's are pretty much out of stock in the U.S. and the ones you find are for a premium. Instead I purchased a set of Bilstein HD's which have the extra 30mm of threading for lowering the car, Porsche factory European Sport front and rear springs designated as optional suspension code M030 and factory M030 front and rear sway bars with complete mounting hardware for the sway bars. All for less then the PSS9's. I never intend on tracking my 993 and would have most likely just set the PSS9's and left them anyway. I am really looking forward to the improved ride. Thanks to all for their input on the PSS9's and best of luck for those still looking...

Bilstein HD Setup
It appears the place in Tampa, FL has a few of these setups. Here is an Ebay link where I purchased what I described earlier. No affiliation....

Viper Bob still has PSS9s ... if you need his number PM me. I also agree that M030 are sufficient unless you are seriously tracking them (front and rear sway bars and springs for less than PSS9 kit)

The prices are going up for the PSS9 due to the weak dollar. I just pulled the trigger for $2295 (free shipping) from Performance Products. Sometimes it is good to have a little bit of a push to sink some money ...
