Great cars, all. But Mark wins!!! Wow, you have really come a long way. Congrats on a stunning machine!!! Enjoy in great health, bud

As for my retired Trackmeister, see avatar. Now pulling 100% daily duty --tough job, but someone's gotta do it
Its successor is a modest SC ...while not a 993, am certainly loving every minute of it

Just curious for those guys that have the dedicated track cars with the stickers all over them. Did you actually get sponsor money to use them or are they just for looks? And, if so, are they as particular where they are placed on the car as NASCAR?

Road Atlanta & Roebling Road (Notice the Painter Tape Numbers on some pics. I was going too fast for my magnets and lost the 00's on the straight)

Thanks for the comments, guys! You can't go wrong with any 993 on the track!

Bill,

The only semi-sponsor I have is Rooftop Communications, an ad agency. It's run by a friend who has a passion for the sport. He gave me money four years ago. There's no contract, no agreement, other than I told him I could make the car available for his corporate events and that I would put his company's name all over my car.

Some of the other stickers are for contingency sponsors such as FVD and CDOC. If you podium in a minimum field, you earn credits for purchases.

The rest of the stickers are to make the car look like a race car. I think race cars should look like race cars. I have picked up new business by starting conversations with people when they see the car on the [open] trailer, due, IMO, in part by the fact that the car looks the role.

Sponsorships aside, you're either a "sticker guy", or not....IMO

The Hippo is due for some stickers - but I drive it to the track, hoping to not attract too much attention:

Rob, let's see more! Off-track is cool, too. BTW, where did you get the front GT2 splitter/spoiler?
