P0444, evaporater canistor purge valve
Ladies and gents,
A friend has the P0444 code. I could not find anything in the search nor in the mechanic books about it.
What is it, where is it? Part number if you have it, thanks in advance.
Tony

Beuler, Beuler...
Anybody? Even where it is, I can figure out the rest from there. The closest thing I could find is the vent tank over the gas tank.

Hello Tony,
To find the answer, search for the porsche TSB's, and click on diagnostic trouble codes.
P0444 falls under error (DTC 98 Fuel Tank Ventilation Valve )
Then go to the parts catalog, page 74, and you will find the valve called "vent line with shut-off valve"
part number 964.201.061.00
Bare in mind that depending on the Model Year of the 993, some early models had this code triggered by
a defective gas filler cap. I have posted this TSB as well. good luck sir.

This is an old thread but its the only one that comes up when you search for P0444 in the 993 board, so I wanted to add my own experience to it so others who search for this code in the future will see what worked for me. The thread that ended up helping me was related to code P0443.
So what I found was that I left a check valve unplugged at the top of the tree behind the blower, easy fix. The plug and wire had fallen over behind the varioram and was out of site.
So to the next guy who makes this mistake 11 years from now, you're welcome.
