Sounds reasonable, but personally, I don't put that much of a premium on cars with low mileage. (call me a hypocrite because, I WOULD discount for excessive mileage.) My personal belief is that Porsches were designed to be driven, and driven HARD. I don't think sitting around is the best thing for them.

If you are looking for a garage queen, then this may suit your objectives. Do you want a daily driver, a track car or a weekend car? this sounds like a weekend car, vice a track car.
for me personally, it is priced high, but I use my 993 as a DD.
for reference, I paid $31K for my 96 with 68K miles.
for $42K I would look for an S.

I think he means flood damage. There were LOADS of cars that were damaged by Katrina and many are making there way to market. I saw an article where the police were furiously trying to document as many car VINs as possible because they knew the aftermath would be tons of "new cars" that were flood damaged would me moved to other parts of the country and sold as pristine.

A car with 15k mileage should be perfect. PERFECT. If it is, that's a pretty reasonable price given what the high end specialist dealers get for very low mile cars.

Definitely check for Katrina or repaired collision damage, though. Pricing slightly low for a quick sale (but not suspiciously low) is a common way to unload crashed or flooded cars.

If the car checks out mechanically and everything else (body/interior/etc.) supports the low mileage, I'd say the price is fair. Certainly a fair starting point.

I paid $37k for a very clean 34,000 mile example two years ago.

10,000 miles later and the car has been an absolute joy to own - zero issues and tons of fun.

Forgot to mention it has one of those big wings on it. That seems to lower its appeal to me no? I think I prefer the stock booty with the rising wing. Also some black center HRE's that don't look as good as they sound.

Two years ago I bought my one owner 95' with 78,000mi for $26,500 and now have 93,000mi with no major costs beyond the 90k service ($1300.00) and can assure you that I have as much fun and look as good as any $42k 993.

Low mileage cars are not worth the $$ in my book!

It might be the C2 at a Dallas P-car dealer that has some funky black wheels and a hideous wing (not to mention the SUV++ height). If that's the one, you'll spend 3 to 5 G's sorting it out before you even get to any mechanicals. If the PO did that, I'd be concerned about what else may be screwed up or beat up.

If it is the one in Dallas, you can always sell the wing and the wheels on Ebay or to someone else. The "suv" height is a matter of opinion. The rest can be sorted out. if the car checks out, is pristine and YOU LIKE IT, go for it. Remember, that is why Baskin Robbins has more than 1 flavor. Who cares what someone else likes or says.

If it was a factory aerokit wing, I'd say $41K would be good and just dump those ugly wheels. If it's not a factory wing, I just wouldn't mess with it at all. Too many unknowns. Unless you HAVE to have that color, then all bets are off
