New Member -- Thanks for all of the great info!
Hi Guys,
I've been lurking around learning A LOT! Thanks for the info on checking the oil... I thought I was an idiot because I was struggling to read the dipstick! Great pricing thread. Many other threads were very informative!
Well, here are pics of my baby. I picked her up in April from a guy who was getting divorced and had to refinance his house in 5 days. I low-balled him in exchange for a check in 2 days. He took it and I couldn't be happier.
Specs:
1995, C4 Cabriolet
67,000ish miles
6 speed
Triple black
TPC Supercharger (TPC website claims: almost 400 hp; 400 lbs torque)
18” Turbo twist wheels
Lowered
Strut bar
No back seats
The supercharger is sweet! I don't know anything more than what I've read on the TPC site, but she definitely has some serious giddy up! I haven't tracked her because she doesn't have a roll bar and PCA won't let me ride without one. I'm not really thrilled about paying $1,500 to have one installed when I'm worried it will ruin her good looks. Does anyone out there have pics of their cab with a roll bar installed?
The original owner added the red "S" when he added the supercharger... The car is not an "S" (I think the "S's" started in '96) -- Question: I think the "S" is tacky, only because she isn't one... do you think I can remove it? How is it stuck on there? Will it screw up the paint if I take it off?
Again, thanks for all of the good info!

Denise, the "S" should be very easy to remove. Take a hair dryer to it and then thread a piece of dental floss under the letter and gently pry it off. I did this to my 1989 Carrera and the only thing it left was a ghost shadowing of the lettering. However, mine was factory installed 18 years ago. Yours will probably leave no trace. You may have some wax buildup around the old "S" which will come off with clay bar, polish and wax.

Hi Denise,
With that fat butt, red calipers and unsplit engine grill, your C4 sure looks like a C4S to me.
I believe the C2S first came out in '96 but the C4S may have come out in '95.

Welcome!
There's someone local with a rollbar in there cab. I've seen him at one AX meet back in April. I don't think he post on here though, you may want to try the Dorki board.

I would delete the "S" asap, it takes more than red calipers and twists to make it a widebody. Ask me how I know.

welcome.....the car looks sweet. I would lose the "S" as well (cause u know it's not an "S") . after u floss it out, you can use "goo gone" for auto to remove the sticky stuff, and it wont harm the paint.
drive it in good health!
