Call it whatever you want, how ever you want, whenever you want..
But if you try to correct me, I'll just look at you like like you have a big bogger hanging out of your nose. Then I'll walk away quietly and laugh at you.

But if your 4 or 5 year old child corrects me.. I'll tell you that you have a cool kid.

If I pronounced Chevrolet: SHEV-ROH-LET, or Dodge: DOD-GEE. or Buick: BWEEK, everybody would look at me like I'm an idiot. But correct someone who mispronounces Porsche and all of a sudden you are picky and arrogant.
It could be worse, I guess, I could have an XKE.
Can you imagine someone coming up to you and saying "Nice Jagwire"

On the "Made by Hand" film...made in the summer of 1960 to show Porsche's assembly line...Dr. Ferry Porsche makes the movie's introduction...

"Greetings POR-SHÃ friends..."

PS. Poorsh is the same car, but you only buy in case of mid life crises.

I always thought it was Booey like the knife guy.

Actually his real name is David Jones, so there is no correct way anyway.

A "poorsh" is what I have on my house; a "Poorscha" is what I drive.

LOL...even Jay Leno, who has a couple, pronounces it wrong....never hear anyone correct him.

+1

I pronounce it correctly, and it usually surprises the hell out of my German and Swiss colleagues.

Excellent point.

I pronounce it correctly, and do not bother correcting others. I do find it highly suspect when mechanics and salesman do not know how to pronounce it correctly.

Poorsh is to Poser as Porsche is to Owner.

I correct Porsche owners and those who say it near me more than about 3 times incorrectly.

Is it Beemer or Bimmer? Merc or Merce?

porscha sounds very classy. I change it up depending on who I am talking to.
My 5yr old neice, says "porschA".

No offence, but ever hear a french guy say "porscha" with the accent. It just wouldnt sound right.

Besides, poorsh is just a lazy way.....every silable counts.

If one wants to be pickey, I would say it is pronounced more like"porsch-eh" ( like the "e" in shed) , not "porscha" or "porsch". ....Sorry!

It should be pronounced as it is pronounced. Its not like people drive Caarvette's--of course depends on what part of the country you live in with accents tied in.

My son is named Nathan and some people like to call him Nate for some reason and it bothers me because that is not his name. I do correct people when that happens. If my son elects to have himself called Nate down the road, thats fine but I will always call him Nathan. Nathan is pronounced Nathan, not Nate.
