I am in! Just so everyone knows the CHP is all over in what looks to be one of the largest cayon crack down of all times. If your car is in ANYWAY modified outside what the CHP deems correct you will be cited. I had the good fortune to spend 25mins with the CHP's best last weekend at lookout pt... Went thru my car from the front plate to a sound check of my RSR's (I passed)...if you google "santa monica canyon crack down" you can see the size and scope this project. One thing that I REALLY have a problem with is the atempted use of street racing forteiture laws that are now on the books" My hope is some freedom fighting Constitional lawyer will lose his vintage supercar because he was FOLLOWING his fellow enthusiast(s) in a spirited manner...P.S. I really dont want the guy to lose his car...just shed some light on what many find a property rights infringement.

come to the get2gether
hear ya pcar, been a reality for a while...
sad esp. when there is no racing involved ever in rennlist or tiki canyon tours. i seriously think the ricers & other street racers have taken a huge toll on the whole southland. unfortunate for us guys who just love & want to enjoy our adult toys.
good people's freedoms are being taken away b/c of a few idiots & a law sys. that simply needs to make more & more money each year. really sad.
fwiw: in groups i have driven with, aside from someone hitting some bushes in the wet, there have been zero incidents in regard to speeding tickets or accidents. seems to me our pcar brothers & sisters are more responsible drivers and drive @ a rate fitting to the conditions. just my experience.
maybe that's b/c so many pcar peeps have done track time? know what their cars can really do & have more self-discipline?
- hope more can join us!!! & c-ya @ the g2g!

Three Wheelin'
If I can drag my lazy *** outta bed that morning I'll be there. I've been stuck here in Fairfield, CT for the past week and don't get back for another 7 days. Even though I only take it out for spins on the weekends, I'm having p-car withdrawls right now. I may have to go test drive a new one or something.....I think I need a support group to talk me through this!!!

In furtherance of PCAR's admonitions:
http://www.topangamessenger.com/arti...ArticleID=2601
I got tagged for no front plate recently, and as he was CHP in Malibu, he did not have to give me the luxury of a "fix it" (his discretion) so I had to pay the fine, deal with Malibu Court, and schlep down the the CHP to prove I put the plate back on. Let's just say, I could have fought it but, he and his two squad cars and two cycle buddies waiting at the top just after that nice straight as you approach the first lookout before dropping down Stunt, could have been much, much harsher and cited on speed, which we argued over and he compromised giving me the "advised of excess speed" but in violation of the plate law. I would not want to face them now that there is a major initiative to sting the "sprited ride" participants. So, for once I will jump back someplace at the end of the line ....

Hey- I don't mind taking it easy--I just got popped in my Corolla, so now I'm in "Mr. Laid Back mode" for the next 18 months.
Anyone got a good idea for "temporary" front plate attachment? Duct tape sounds awfully tempting (as it blows up, up and away, bouncing off my hood and into my windshield) I don't even think I own the proper square nylon nut/anchors.
Mine normally rides in the safety triangle pocket in the front trunk. And to think...I just got Bumper Plugs, too!

fwiw: porsche has an, updated version, plate holder for the 993... plastic like on the 6' & 7's... much easier to install, etc. bet there's a way to make it even quicker & easier w/ some butterfly nuts or even some kind of snaps for those two holes... replug as needed.

from Mower Axle last week. Screws into the tow hook thread. Looks "industrial strength". I'll post when I get it.
