Will you and the wife be coming to the North Cascade Tour on July 28th & 29th ? That last Cam Am run you put together was the best bar none . My car is still in the body shop from the hard core driving that I put her through . That weekend did 2500 Km of pure fun .

Hey Guy! I have been thinking about this for quite some time. I still have Millie, so that is saying something. She is a great car and something special, so even thinking about getting rid of her is painful.

Funny, I don't feel like I am any closer to my decision. The C4S that I am interested in is just calling my name.
But, I have deep feelings for my early car, since I just rebuilt/upgraded her mechanically.

I don't if my 2 cents will help in your decision but when I was looking for my first Porsche, I had to do some soul searching as to an early 911 or a 993. I knew I wanted air cooled and I wanted to hit the track every once in a while. Although the early cars really call to me, I came to the conclusion that if I could find the right 993 it would be the better choice for me. I was lucky and found a C4S that had all of the go fast stuff and still had the AC and radio. My C4S came with the lite fly wheel, and the re-geared transmission. Those two changes made this particular 993 feel much faster then the other cars that I had tested. Power feels like it is instant on. Of course, more power would be great, but my budget would not allow a turbo. In the end, I think that because my car has go fast parts and some basic creature comforts, I enjoy driving more and I drive it more often.
With that being said, it sounds like you have put quite a bit of time and money into your early car. Are you willing to put money into the 993 get the same smile? Can you put AC into early car?
Anyway, good luck on your decision. Eitherway you will end up with a great car!

You know how these things are...I would like to keep the car pretty stock, but that never happens.
I would want to install euro M030 springs right away, and possibly seats (Recaro PP). The rest will come in time.
Still on the fence....

Don't boot me from the 993 board...
Keep the longhood, buy the M3 DD and wait a while until you can manage a 993 and keep the longhood. The 993 will always be there, my concern with the longhood is that if you sell it then decide to get another, it may cost you more than the price of a 993 to find one. I hope I'm wrong and the market will soften, but if I'm not...
At least in the case, the "wrong" decision (whatever that may be) is still pretty damn good. Kind of a win-win as they say.
