Need tools to remove CR-1 radio, trade a Porsche DVD
Hi All,
I'm installing a remote CD changer in my 95 993, but need those little flat tools to pop out the CR-1 radio. Does anybody have a set they'd like to sell or trade? I have an extra one of the History Channel 911 DVDs brand new in the wrapper if you like that for a trade. Thanks. Jeff

don't think you need those flat tools...at least mine didn't. There are two sliding latches on both sides of the radio that hold a small metal **** attached to the CR-1. Remove the rectangle faceplate to access. once you slide the latches away from the ****, just pull the unit forward.

Thanks Joe. That sounds better than trying to keep up with those tools. I'll try this when I figure out if the CR-1 has a code. I just bought this car a couple weeks ago and can't find a code in any of the paperwork.
Does anybody know if the CR-1 has a code? Jeff

After the latches are released, it worked better for me to reach up under the dash and push the radio out, rather than try to pull it. There really isn't much to pull with.

If you want to do it the "correct" way, get a set of these: http://www.xm-radio-satellite.com/br...oval-Tool.html

The CDR-210 is easy to remove but you WILL need the removal keys. Just insert them in the thin slots on either side (the keys are marked so pay attention to which side goes up) and push the keys in all the way. You should hear a "click" as you insert them all the way. Carefully start pulling on the keys, wiggling a bit as you go, and the radio should pull right out. Once you get it started you can reach under the dash and push from behind if it's easier. If you search you'll probably find some photos.

henkinc: If I recall, the 210 has two slots on the bottom of the unit at each edge. They are parallel to the ground. See https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ght=becker+210.
