Seat stuck (not in rear pos) ...help!!
Ugh, Help!! My driver's seat (power, of course) is stuck when I moved it forward for my wife to drive. Now only ONE side of the seat will move for/aft; the outboard side will NOT move on its rail.
So not only is the seat stuck in short-person's position, but ***** sideways since only the inboard side rail will move with the button. Worse yet, I can't get to the bolts to remove the seat. What to do, all??!! ...I can't drive the car with my knees in my chest!

Edward,
Give the 993 to your wife and buy another!
Seriously, someone experienced with the stuck seat syndrome (SSS) will probably chime in shortly.

I recall a number of threads about stuck seats 4 or 5 years ago

Edward, Take the drive cable off the side that is stuck. Take a long square drive and insert it into the rear drive of the stuck side. Rotate the tool CW or CCW to free the jammed drive.
I made my tool by grinding an old screw driver.

Thanks for the bail out, guys! Rocking didn't do it ...tried that first to no avail. Did look for change or something in the tracks ...that was my second thought after the "rocking" thing didn't fix it. Nothing evident in the tracks.
So I did an exploratory as per Dudley's suggestion (great trick, BTW. Will remember that one!). When I took off the cable on the outboard side, I determined that the motor DID turn on both sides when I hit the seat switch ...so figured cable must be broken. Yanked that out and it was identical to the working inboard side. Hmmm. So I put it all back together and ...it works! The best I can figure is the cable came loose internally, while it looked perfectly fine externally. There is a central spring clip that holds the cable-housing ends tightly to the motor ...perhaps that was loose on one end preventing the cable from mating securely to the motor. My guess, anyway. In any event, it works. Thanks to the power of Rennlist and the collective advice and generosity of time from all you guys!! ...and on a Sunday evening, no less!!
