There is a 993 in our region of the PCA that has both TBL's.. The car is a one owner and original, according to the owner. Both lights functio. Strange..

FYI The basket handle can be purchased with or WITHOUT (?!) the brake light
from Performance Products (no affiliation, etc.). Who the heck would want
it without the brake light?

I once saw a 964 (white with fikse fm-10's) with the basket handle 'spoiler', no brake light. I thought of it as an ad on spoiler....car looked great actually.

Sorry folks, I don't have a pics to show & tell but this reminds me not too long ago, I saw a 997 with some sort of basket handle installed in the back... Has anyone else seen that? Could that be some sort of option?

I obtained this 1996 C2 about two years ago with limited information about the car from the previous owner (he had moved to Italy and put the car on consignment with a local dealer).
The car has been fantastic and I’ve found no surprises except for the fact that it has both the upper window brake light and a basket handle light. At first I thought it might be a replacement engine boot, but it appears to be the factory original with factory wiring and paint. Carfax showed no accidents nor does my mechanic think there was any rebuilding of the rear.
I have talked to a few others that claim their cars came from the factory this way. I’m not sure, but I do know this one’s coming off when I get the car re-sprayed.
