Are your crests correct???
While walking around looking at the Porsches at the European Auto Show a couple of weeks ago, I was dumbfounded as to how many wheel crests were positioned wrong.
I was told a number of years ago (prior to Porsche ownership) that the point of the crest on the wheel caps should point to the valve stem.
Do yours?

My crests are correct.
BTW, How many put the wheel locks on the correct stud (red marked) and have it opposite the valve stem when you mount the rim?

Dare I ask why the crests must point toward the valve stem? The position of the wheel lock vs. stem is an obvious one (but it wasn't so obvious last time I R & R'd my wheels!)

Mine are correct, always For some strange reason, it bugs the crap out of me when I see other P-cars with the crests pointing elsewhere. OCD?
In 2002, just after getting my first 993, I was constantly aligning the crests up with the valve stems -- I later fixed it, and easily and inexpensively. Just apply a thin skin of RTV on the plastic mounting tabs, outside diameter. Let cure overnight and install.
The RTV allows the center cap tabs to grip the wheel. They have never moved since!!

I kept the wheel lock opposite the valve stem as it offset the weight difference created by the valve stem.
I have since removed the wheel locks and replaced them with regular lug nuts.
It's tradition - the cars rolled out of the factory that way. If the Factory technicians paid that much attention to detail, why shouldn't the owners?

On my twists, the caps are correctly pointed at the valve stem. As far as the locks, I didn't know there was a "right" stud to put them on. Oh well, something else to do when I rotate my tires front to back.

I guess this is just something else to be nuerotic about for no reason at all. I'm going to leave my crests as they are just to drive you lunatics crazy! (I am going to move the locks though...lol)
