I'm ticked off! My C4S damaged...

At least she has insurance - most of the time, when a car gets hit, it's by an unemployed, uninsured douchebag driving on an expired license (Or Paris Hilton).
On the bright side, the damage can be repaired and there will never be a better time to ask her to agree to a threesome.

My wife did the exact same thing to the Boxster with her SUV. Its a good time to be forgiving!
I got brownie points for not freaking. BUT a week later she backed into my Moms car the same way. I freaked! Bye Bye brownie points.
She's a bit more careful when she backs out of the garage now.

Sorry to hear about the unfortunate luck.
However, she was heading to pick up your daughter. Imagine if there was no wife and no daughter, and yet your 993 was still sitting pristine out there? That kinda changes the perspective on what's more valuable, doesn't it?
I think you have the right attitude. Cars can be fixed, and attitudes, well, those can be fixed from a loving family. It sounds like you're due in for some "makeup" opportunities from the wife (is she buying the dances at the club?), and of course, your 993 will be freshened up a bit.
As for body shops, I'm mainly South Bay, but I've had good experiences with the Works Auto Body off Lafayette in Santa Clara, as well as German Auto Body off Dela Cruz. Not the cheapest outfits in town, but they definitely do their stuff right. I have also heard of a Cecil Beech (?) that runs a shop around here, but don't have the shop name on me.

Yeah, what's with all the dings, fender benders, etc. lately?? I'm afraid to take my car out now, paranoia...
You're generous to say "misjudged", based on where the Lexus hit your car, it wasn't just off, it was almost right in the middle of the car! Anyway, don't mean to rile you up again! Just commiserating w/ you, I know how I'd feel if something happened to my precious 993.

Why? Just curious...
Replacing quarter panel or fender with a new one is preferred over repairing, bondo, etc a damage one in my book.

Wow, that sucks. But look on the bright side, the brownie points you just got should get you at least a few good upgrades, and a few kitchen passes to get to the track or other P-car events! Good luck on the repairs and keep us all posted.

Three Wheelin'
If it were mine, I would want the panel replaced, with all the curvature in that area. I'd be curious to know what the body shop advises. This may be one of the factors in whom you ultimately chose.

I had a similar incident several years ago with my 944. Someone clipped the rear fender. The dealership's body guy recommended cutting out the rear quarter panel and replacing it. My insurance company settled up based on that estimate. I then took the car to independant paint and body shop and they repaired the fender so that you can't tell it was ever touched. In my opinion this was preferable to cutting out part of the body.
I could be wrong but I think that the car is weaker after being chopped up.
In my case it was less expensive to repair the fender and I had the whole car (except the roof) painted.
