Default New antenna in a Cabriolet

Has anyone ever tried to mount a radio antenna, such as a Fuba Betaflex-D, in the interior of a cabriolet? I don't see why this wouldn't get more reliable reception (especially in a cab) than the stock windshield antenna (as well as solving the problem of the very difficult to access stock antenna amplifier).

The only problems I can see are where to mount it so:

1. That the base gets a good ground.

2. It is inconspicuous.

3 There is access to the rear of the sheetmetal to which it is mounted, so that the antenna lead can be run to the dashboard.

Any thoughts or experience will be greatly appreciated
