Body shop recommendation in Pasadena?
Can anyone recommend a good body shop in Pasadena? I have used Markham and Bolling on a previous car, but was unhappy with the service and results. I would be open to going to a shop in the LA area if anyone knows a good one, but would prefer one close to Pasadena.

Tim,
No personal experience and I don't know that they are 993 experts, but two that I've seen discussed that do Porsche work are:
1) Carrera 6 in Pasadena
http://carrera6.net/index.html
2) Automotive Innovations in Van Nuys

Your other option may be to call Scientific Automotive on Walnut and ask them for a recommendation.
I'd be curious to know what your experiences are on this one.
Good luck,
Kevin

I went to Bells & Vaughn yesterday. Looked like a good place. The estimate seemed somewhat reasonable. I think I will go there unless I discover a compelling reason not to go there. BTW this is for my daily driver '06 BMW, not my 993, but I figured if a body shop is good enough to work on Porsches it's good enough for a Bimmer.

I'd always heard the gold standard in town was Golden Hammer. I have to get a left fender resprayed (big F you to whoever ran a key right down to the metal), so I'd be interested in anyone's experience.

Bobs auto body on Walnut, down the street from Volkswagen. I have had many cars fixed there and one complete paint on my 70 230 SL. He is very good with German cars. He also did a complete on my in laws 70 911t and my 356c can't ask for a better job. ask for Brett.

Tim,
I have used Bob's many years ago for a repaint of a 73 911T Great work. Golden Hands on Parkwood replaced our rear bumper when it cracked, dhortly after we go the car. Great work but typical body shop....ie you are on their time. My Dads 996 was clipped by a old crazy lady last year and he took it to Johnnies on Foothill. My Dad does not like Auto body "Artists". Did a great job as well.
I would recomend a local guy because you can go by and see them, drop off homemade cookies and generally let them know you like what they are doing.
It works for me.
