I seem to remember BMW donating a few M5's when the factory first opened in South Carolina.

I remember reading about a post on a forum a couple of years ago about a Brit returning to the UK after the F1 race at SPA and boasting about he out-ran the Belgian police to the French border at speeds of 160+ mph. The car was an Ultima. Such a chase car could mak a clown like that think twice so there are two sides of the equation.

I don't think an Ultima would have a problem losing a 997TT in any circumstance

I was going to ask "what the hell is an Ultima". Searched on google...ok, a 1200lb race car with a 720 hp small block chevy. I guesss this the modern take on the Pantera concept?

Cool I think, at least you got something to chat about when they fill in your details. In my country of origin (netherlands) they stopped using the targa and switched to local product.

Perhaps not in an out and out race but it's a bit better matched than an Ultima compared to a Peugeot or Renault sedan which could be a turbo Diesel or a 3 liter V6 at best.

As far as I've been able to verify it's a 'show' model for some fair or another. The distributor claims it's actually a client car (a grey one) that's been covered in a special film for demonstration purposes. At the end of the event the film will be removed and the car will go to its private owner.

So you can all stay on your side of the pond !

I saw their setup at last year's LA auto show. Great looking cars, I wonder how they're built.
