Default Up & Down to the Nürburgring today

Hi gentlemen,

today I had a day off, the sun was shining and my car was calling for a run... So no hesitation, I took my camera jumped in the my clean black 4S and ran to the Nordschleiffe. I warmed up my brakes having picked up twice a police car with radar hidden alog my way! Good for the wallet! The roads in Germany were twisty, and nobody to slow me down. A great run until the track barrier...I could not beleive it: the track was closed today
I know I should have checked on the web for the opening days, but it never crossed my mind that they could close it on such a wonderful day (27°c).
I walked around, took a few pics, tasted the local beer and came back the same way. A great day anyway!

Beautiful pictures! Really vibrant colors. I was just there a few weeks ago, and really want to go back. Lucky you.

Yes, I hate it when I show up on the wrong day, with the wrong car.

Great pics! I'm planning a trip from the UK to the 'Ring at the end of June or beginning of July. I want to coincide this with a trip in the M5 Ring Taxi as it looks like a veery exciting 10 minutes!
Anyone from the UK fancy joining me?

Thanks for those comments.

Let me know when you go Darren, if I have a day off that day I'll join you there or on the way. As far as I known, the ring taxi is quite busy, and has to be reserved in advance.
By the way I'll be at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood on the friday and saturday

Yes it is, in fact it usually sells out almost instantly. However, cancellations do occur. One can always call or write the office and see if there is an opening - this got me my reservation. Worst case, stop in at the office and get on the waiting list. Ring taxi rentals are for the whole car and there are often seats available if the renter doesn't mind sharing.

I've made some enquiries regarding the Ring Taxi and there are spaces available on a couple of Saturdays, but you have to buy a ticket first, then book a date and time. Unfortunately the tickets are sold out, but there are dates available . I assume you book tickets in advance and can pick a date whenever it suits you.
Oh well, they said they will email me just before the next batch of tickets become available which should be in a couple of weeks. I'll keep you posted!

As soon as you know your date, send me a pm or a mail, I'll try to influence the planning guy to give me a day off.

Toga,

That can't be your real license plates or else I have lived outside France too long (24 years...).
- 99 is not a French "departement"
- www (or ww) used to be for temporary license plates, pre registration
- there is no vanity plate option in France (that was not an option in the past)
- the "F" contradicts your signature which specifies that you reside in Belgium.

Hercule Poirot is biting his beret...

Your car looks the best of course (not biased at all)
