Central KY/OH/IN run
Hi all.
I would like to organize a run on HWY 227, located in Georgetown, KY and ending in Owenton, KY.
For those that do not know of it, it has 133 curves in 18 miles. It is a VERY fun road to travel on and the speed limit is, ready for this, 55mph. It is insane but yet there. We are talking a road most travel at 30-40 mph.
The road ends in Owenton and you can divert to either 75 or 64. The scenery is beautiful and the roads are in very good shape for the most part.
Let me know who is interested and I will plan further details.
Thx

OK fellows, date change and we can mark this as concrete. Mike's car is getting suspension work so if it is OK, let's wait until
Sunday May 6th-day after Derby
Weather should be nice.
We can meet in Georgetown at say Cracker Barrel, have some breakfast and then go tear through some roads.
Here are my thoughts:
The run should take about 40 minutes each way if you want to return to G Town. If not, I-75 is about 20 minutes from the end of 227 (Owenton) and I-64 is about 25 minutes from Owenton.
It can be as long or short as you like and I plan to drive the Harrodsburg run into Shaker Village and then to Harrodsburg as well. That is a very beautiful road with hair pins and long straights ending in KY's oldest city.
Let me know fellows. Mike said he has a couple of friends in Louisville who might be interested as well so, it could be a very good group run.

I could be in - Georgetown is about 2 plus hours from Dayton, but I have made the trip several times to watch the Bengals training camp.

Excellent!
How about 10a at Cracker Barrel in Georgetown. That is exit 126 on I-75 and exit 69 on I-64 (turn right onto HWY 62 to HWY 460 By Pass. Turn right and proceed about 5 miles. CB is on the Right)

That's great we can meet here in Louisville and take the short ride to G-town. The road sounds like a blast and it will give me a chance to break in the new suspension. Call me so we can get everything set up. I can probably get 5 people from here with a good mix of 911's.
