Used DAS bars never stick around for very long.

Armand, are you going with the OG cage?

I have one for sale for a cab:

https://rennlist.com/forums/for-sale-ads-member-to-member-fs-wtb-free/341554-fs-das-roll-bar-for-993-cab.html

Shipping it is damn expensive; FedEx ground quoted $150 from Los Angeles to Florida. If Ron (95FL993CAB) doesn't buy it I'll repost it and offer to ship it.

At this point to save the hassle of shipping (and the risk of having it damages) I'll take $525 from someone that can pick it up in the Los Angeles area.

Wow, FedEx Ground went up in price. I just looked up what I paid them back in 2003 to ship my DAS bar from Colorado to Maryland and found out that it was $32.67 with a declared value of of $800. MY bar was painted but came unpadded and unboxed and had to be repowdercoated at a cost of about $225, IIRC.

Yeah.. I have it wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed in a large double cardboard box. Perhaps I am over doing it because it was marred on it's last shipping trip via UPS.

Mark,
What shop did you use for powdercoating?

Chuck,

Since FedEx uses dimensions to determine shipping costs, maybe you should just ship it naked. Unless you build a wooden box for it, I think it's bound to get scuffed. A buyer has to realize that, unless they're lucky enough to find a DAS bar locally and not have to deal with the shipping hassle and subsequent need for repainting, refinishing is just part of the cost of the bar.

Andreas,

I don't have the name in my computer, but it was some place near Jessup or Savage. Since the bar was previously Krylonned, I also had to have the bar sandblasted (some place near the Baltimore shipyards) and then brought over to the powdercoaters lickety-split to avoid any corrosion issues.

Mark,
If it's the place located at the crux of 32 & 1, I've used them before with good results.

Andreas,

I found the biz card and I think it's the same one that you used; it's AFI Powdercoating at 8844-B Washington Blvd, Jessup, MD 20794. 410-888-9228.

That's right; I forgot. Thanks, Todd.

I'm thinking of having either a carbon fiber-look or a wood grained-look applied to my cage so I can freak out the scruts...
