As a new Rennlist member I wanted to say hello and comment on what a fantastic forum this is. Members and sponsors seem to be a wonderfull resource and always willing to help. I recently purchased a 1995 Cab 993 triple black and membership has already paid for itself. I have owned more cars than most dealers and admittedly need an intervention with upgrades. Looks like I am about to dive down the slippery slope head first. Car is completely stock with the only upgrade being 18" turbo twist wheels and yoko tires.
Here is where we are now based upon list research. Any observations or comments on the plan would be appreciated.
Ergonomics, need adjustment as I am 6'3" and most of it legs. With the seat all the way back I have to really reach for the wheel and shifter. Solution, MOMO Monte Carlo with 1.5" spacer and RS Shifter which I believe is 1" taller and can be adjusted 1" backwards.
Sound system, upgraded medium Pioneer, Focal Polyglass components slim 5.25 front, slim 4" components rear, Audison LRx 6.9 1000w from Rod Birch along with his 8" JL Audio sub enclosures.
Suspension, 99.9% street wanting lowered ride hieght, and slightly better performance without jarring the ride over Washington DC potholes. Solution, Bilstien HD with M030 springs and sway bars from Viper Bob.
Performance, GHL exhaust as it seems to be louder than RSR's and Maxflows and less than super cups without any drone or resonance. Chip upgrade, and airbox cover along with K&N.
Car has 50K miles with documented maintenance replacing steering rack, soft top motors and recall, wiring harness recall, and major service at 30K. Only real repair needed at this point is the odometer which actually quit working on my drive home.
Thank you in advance for any comments or suggestions. I have a lot to learn and am very excited to be in the Porsche of my dreams. The 993 to me is the most beautifull 911 ever made! This one is going to be in the stable for a long time.

"Triple Black"??!!! OUTSTANDING!!
First - pictures - we want pictures
Second, once you are set to do the suspension - talk to Viperbob and post to the Forum about some of your choices? InTheAir did a TERRIFIC DIY here:

Thirdly - our thanks for your support of Rennlist! It's more appreciated than many realize....
And - Welcome to the Slippery Slope!

Love your car!!! Black is definately the pinnicle of 993 sweetness. My last 911 was black. I was a "spot" fanatic and spent hours cleaning when I wish I was driving. I miss the black "badass" look. Enjoy the ride but remember, depending on where you will be driving it, you will likely be the center of attention (so don't pick your nose)!
Keep the shiny side up.
Cheers,
